OPBF super flyweight champion Rene Dacquel and his manager Ryuta Kato
FILIPINO champion Rene “Commander” Dacquel will defend his Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) super flyweight title against Japanese challenger Hayato “Big Yoo” Kimura on July 19 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
It will be Dacquel’s third title defense. He previously retained it via a split decision win against Shota Kawaguchi last April 2 at the EDION Arena in Osaka, Japan.
Dacquel, who is managed by Ryota Kato of United Boxing Promotions currently has a record 19-6-1, 6 KOs.
Kimura, on the other hand, has 26 wins, 9 losses with 17 knockout wins. The 28-year old Kimura previously scored a 5th round technical knockout win against Kasikrit Wanasutha last April 10 at the Korakuen Hall.
Also featured in the same card is the OPBF super bantamweight championship fight between newly-crowned champion Hidenori Otake (28-2-3) and challenger Kinshiro Usui (27-5-0).
Otake won the vacant OPBF crown by a unanimous decision against Jelbirt Gomera (12-1-0) last March 17 at Korakuen Hall.
