Damir Hadzovic scored one of the best knockouts of the year in 2017, and now he’s set to compete in enemy territory.
Hadzovic will meet fellow lightweight Alan Patrick at the upcoming UFC Fight Night card in Belem, Brazil, on Feb. 3. Both fighters confirmed the news on their social media following a report by Combate.
Hadzovic (11-3) stopped Marcin Held with a knee to the head seven seconds into the third round of their fight at UFC Stockholm in May, bouncing back from a defeat to Mairbek Taisumov in his promotional debut in 2016. Hadzovic won six of his past seven fights, including five finishes.
Patrick (14-1), who suffered his only MMA defeat against Taisumov in 2015, is coming off back-to-back decision victories over Damien Brown and Sttevie Ray in 2016. The other wins of Patrick’s UFC career came against Garett Whiteley and John Makdessi.
UFC Belem will take place at the Mangueirinho Gymnasium on Feb. 3, and features Lyoto Machida vs. Eryk Anders in the main event.
