Danny Roberts will look to increase his winning streak to three when he takes on resurgent Brazilian submission specialist, Claudio Silva, at UFC London on March 16.
UFC announced the welterweight fight through its social media feeds Thursday.
Roberts (16-3-0) is coming off two wins, his latest being a split-decision nod over short-notice replacement and UFC debutant, David Zawada, at UFC Hamburg. Ahead of his Hamburg outing, “Hot Chocolate” stopped Swedish prospect Oliver Enkamp with a blistering first-round knockout at last year’s London event.
The Brit is currently 5-2-0 under the UFC banner. He last tasted defeat in Nov. 2017 when Nordine Taleb stopped him in the first round of their bout at UFC Winnipeg.
Silva (12-1-0) spent three and a half years on the sidelines before returning to action at UFC Liverpool to score a huge upset submission victory over Nordine Taleb. His Liverpool appearance marked the second occasion that “Hannibal” has contested a UFC bout on U.K. soil, the first being his debut when he claimed a split decision win over Brad Scott at 2014’s London event.
The Brazilian is currently 3-0 under the UFC banner. His other victory came against currently ranked welterweight, Leon Edwards, who he edged with a split-decision win when they clashed at UFC Uberlandia.
