The UFC has had a change of plans for May 27th.
Following initial reports that a Fight Night card was planned on that day for Dublin, Ireland, an official announcement was made on Friday that the promotion will go to Liverpool, England for the first time.
Echo Arena will host UFC Fight Night 130, and Liverpool’s own Darren Till has been confirmed as the headliner. An opponent for Till has yet to be announced. Two middleweight fights are set for the event, with Tom Breese fighting Dan Kelly, and Elias Theodorou taking on Trevor Smith.
Till (16-0-1) will have raucous support behind him on fight night, as he looks to inch closer to a title shot. The 25-year-old is coming off a sensational first-round TKO of Donald Cerrone at UFC Gdansk last September, in what was his first main event spot in the UFC. A report out of Brazil said that Till would be fighting Jorge Masvidal, but Masvidal’s management has already shot that down as false.
UFC Fight Night 130 will air live on Fox Sports 1.
