DAVAO CITY –The Davao City amateur boxing team nipped the Team
Aglayan, Bukidnon, 7-5 in their dual meet held last Aug. 10 in Barangay
Aglayan Mini-Gym.
Davao’s Cyril Joshua Revilla (30 kg.) lost by points to Kaiser Tinangguhan in
the first bout.
But Davao’s Jar Ar Bantilan Bantilan (32kg.) tied it up by beating Adams
Domingo. Davao’s Nino Carlo Insigne (38kg) lost again to Alvin Icabo for a
2-1 lead by Team Aglayan.
Davao then took a 3-2 lead courtesy of Cyril Isaac Revilla (42kg.) and
Emmanuel Canubas (49kg) with victories over Jason Gulle and Arman
Leterriano, respectively.
But Davao again suffered successive defeats in three bouts. Davao’s Rocky
James Lariosa (52kg) bowed to Ariel Antemano while Joaquin Dadivas
(53kg) lost to Jeffrey Suan. Cristian James Tuling (50kg) bowed to Jaypoy
Entiliso.
Davao mentored by Jun Sagarino bounced back with four straight wins to
nip Team Aglayan.
Davao’s Dave Maderable (51kg) outslugged Lito Beltran, Vincent Lacar
(52kg) nipped Salde Beltran, Jason Facularin (56kg) beat Jeffy Facalsantos
and Kenneth Engano (57kg) trounced Ven John Yagahon.
Meanwhile, a special attraction was held featuring a sparring session
between undefeated minimumweight Robert Paradero (18W-0L, 12KO)
against Roland Jay Biendima (13W-5L-1D, 7KO).
