DEEJAY WINS WBC INTERNATIONAL TITLE IN SOUTH AFRICA

South African fighter DeeJay Kriel won the vacant WBC minimum international title by unanimously defeating Filipino former WBC Youth World Champion Dexter Alimento at Casino Emperors in Gauteng, South Africa.

The Philippine fighter made a quick start attacking the body in the first two rounds, but Kriel, began to counter-punch driving back his rival.  As the fight wore on,  DeeJay decoded the style of his opponent, thus dominating the combat..

The judges’ scores were 117-111 and  two 116-112, all in favor of the new International WBC champion.

Kriel, 22, improved his record to 12 wins with 6 KO’s, 1 loss and 1 draw; While Alimento fell to 12 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw.
