Deiveson Figueiredo scored the 13th finish of his 15-0 MMA career at UFC Lincoln when he stopped top-ranked flyweight John Moraga in eight minutes — and now he wants a shot at the belt.

Figueiredo handed Moraga the fastest loss of his career in the main card portion of the Fight Night event this past weekend, improving to 4-0 in the UFC with three finishes, and wasn’t surprised by how he was able to stop “Chicano.”

”Hard training, easy fight. I go there for the kill,” Figueiredo told MMA Fighting. “That’s exactly how I envisioned myself knocking him out, man. I watched his fights, studied him, and saw that he always gasses after the first round, so I knew I would be able to finish the fight in the second.”

Figueiredo was already campaigning for a fight with a top-five opponent even before he entered the cage in Lincoln, and getting past a 26-fight veteran in such devastating fashion gives him confident to shoot for the moon.

”Knocking out the No. 6 flyweight gets me some power, I can ask for fights now,” Figueiredo said. “I knocked out someone that is hard to finish.”

With the next championship fight still up in the air after Henry Cejudo shocked the world and defeated Demetrious Johnson earlier this month, and Johnson likely needing time to recover from a knee injury, Figueiredo doesn’t know what will come next for him.

But one thing is for sure: the Brazilian talent is open to facing Cejudo for the flyweight gold.

“That’s going to be one crazy fight, right, brother? I will definitely go there to kill Cejudo,” Figueiredo said. “Cejudo only has wrestling, in my opinion. Outside of his wrestling, he has nothing. If we collide, I touch him and he goes down.

“I beat the No. 6, so bring me someone from the top five,” he continued. “I fought a guy that already fought Demetrious Johnson in a close fight, and Demetrious Johnson only submitted him in the fifth round, after he got tired. I needed one-and-a-half rounds to beat him. I can ask for a fight with him now.”
