Undefeated Sachin Dekwak of India will fight Muhammad “Mehsud” Bilal of Pakistan for the vacant World Boxing Association Asia lightweight title on Sept. 12 at the La Perle in Al Habtoor, Dubai.
The 26-year-old Dekwak (10W-0L, 6KOs) has won two fights already this year.
He first beat Amey Nitin by a unanimous decision last Jan. 31 in New Delhi. Dekwak also scored a UD over Arman at Thinnanur Nadu last Feb. 28.
Bilal (9W-1L-1D, 7KOs), on the other hand, did not fight last year after losing to Shuiat Manzoor last Dec. 19 at Punjab Governor’s House in Lahore.
The 26-year-old Bilal had settled a technical draw with Geisler AP of Indonesia for the WBC Asian Boxing Council Silver super lightweight title in Jayapura last July 20.
The fight is dubbed as “Countdown to Middle East Crown”. It is presented by DJMC Events.
It will also feature boxers from the USA, Russia, Georgia, India, Pakistan, Argentina, Colombia, Thailand, Brazil and the Philippines.
It will be broadcasted live on the Sports Television Networks (main card) and Radio (undercard) across the US and UAE for worldwide streaming.
It will also be the first test of the newly-formed Professional Boxing Commission Dubai headed by Commissioner Almar Kelly Odiong.
