UNDEFEATED Filipino lightweight Harmonito “Hammer” dela Torre of General Santos City is now back training with his Cuban coach Osmiri “Moro” Fernandez in Miami, USA.
“They are looking to fix Hamonito’s mistakes and make him a grand new fighter,” said Jim Claude “JC” Manangquil, chief executive officer of the Sanman Promotions.
Dela Torre won his debut in the US by scoring a majority decision over Guillermo at the Seneca Niagara Resort and Casino in Niagara Falls, New York last May to keep his unblemished record of 18 straight wins with 12 knockouts.
Sanchez started strong in the opening round and tagged Dela Torre with his left to keep him at bay. But Dela Torre came back stronger in the next rounds to dominate the 8-rounder fight against Sanchez.
Dela Torre earlier said that he knows he needs to learn more to improve his fighting style.
Managquil also said that Dela Torre needs to improve that is why they decided to let him train under Fernandez in Miami.
The 22-year old Dela Torre’s right hand also was also hurt in the 4th round round but is now okay. – LITO DELOS REYES
