World Boxing Council female lightweight champion, Delfine Persoon, will defend her world crown at the De Ark Sports Pavilion in Ardooie, Belgium, on December 8th against Canadian Sandy ‘Lil’ Tyson ‘Tsagouris.
Since Person won the prestigious WBC world title in April 2014, she has successfully defended every six months. Four of those eight times were in Zwevezele, Belgium, while she was also working on the development boxing on her country. But on December 8, she will return to her role as world champion.
The mayor of Ardooie, Karlos Callens, received this fight with open arms: “Ardooie is a sports municipality in Belgium, and in the nineties we organized a boxing championship here. It was in the old sports hall and it was very successful card. This is a fantastic sport, more and more people are discovering boxing for exercise.
“I dreamed for a long time about a world-class event and now the opportunity is presented by Delfine, who is an exemplary woman and pride of the country “.
