“DELUBYO” TO FIGHT IN HONG KONG MARCH 11

FORMER World Boxing Council (WBC) International flyweight champion Rey “Delubyo” Megrino is facing Yuki Strong Kobayashi of Japan on March 11 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center in Hong Kong.

Megrino and Kobayashi are fighting in the undercard of the championship fight between Hong Kong’s Rex “Wonder Kid” Tso and Japan’s Hirofumi Mukai for the unification bout of the  WBO International, WBO Asia Pacific and WBC Asian Boxing Council super flyweight titles.

“Ready na akong lumaban muli sa Hong Kong,” said Megrino, who arrived in Hong Kong together with his manager Brico Santig and trainer Joven Jorda of Highland Boxing Gym.

Megrino, 30, won in his last fight via a 5th round knockout against Indonesian Jason Butar Butar last October 8 at the Convention Towers and Exhibition Center in Hong Kong.

Also seeing action in the main supporting bout are two Filipino boxers Kenny “Big Heart” Demecillo (12-3-2, 7 Kos) of Iligan and Mark Anthony “El Heneral” Geraldo (33-7-3, 15 Kos) of Bukidnon, who are fighting against each other for the WBO Oriental bantamweight title.

Demecillo is also the reigning World Boxing Federation (WBF) Asia Pacific bantamweight champion.

He recently retained it in his 3rd title defense via a unanimous decision win against challenger Jestoni Autilda last December 2 in Mandaue City.

Geraldo, on the other hand, previously bowed to Jeson Umbal by a 5th round TKO in their rematch for the vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental super bantamweight title last July 3 in Singapore.
