In this video interview with Fight Hub TV, WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder gives his take on Eddie Hearn’s talk of possibly putting Jarrell Miller up against Anthony Joshua next.
“That’s, that’s, that’s…it’s laughable, you know?! As you can see, they’re scared of me. They’re terrified of me. And that right there proves it. If that happens, that right there gonna let everyone know they’re running from me, they fear me! They don’t want to fight me.
“Eddie already making excuses right now. As you can see, he said that if Jarrell Miller beat Johann Duhaupas — which he’s already beat Gerald Washington, and he said he already beat Wach — but if he beat Johann Duhaupas then this will be the “excuse” that they would need to make the fight [between Joshua and Miller]. It’s subliminal messages…
“Now keep in mind that [Hearn] said that Johann Duhaupas would be the perfect guy for [Miller] to solidify [his case] for him to fight a champion as in Joshua. But keep in mind that I’ve already beat Duhaupas and I’ve already beat Gerald Washington — when they was called bums when I fought them. Duhaupas was called a bum when I fought him. So how does that solidify any chance if I’ve already beat him?
“All the sudden [Duhaupas] is a great fighter but when I fought him he was a bum. As you can see, it’s in black and white, they do not want to fight me. I don’t think Hearn has any confidence in Joshua of beating me. I think he’s trying to gain a check as long as he can until it’s time for me because he know all roads lead to me, and it ends with Deontay Wilder.”
