DIALE TKO’S UGBANIEL IN UNITED CUP XVI

PHILIPPINES — Former WBC International flyweight champion Ardin “The Jackal” Diale is back on his winning form after scoring a technical knockout win in the United Cup XVI held June 27 at the Makati Square Boxing Arena in Makati City.
Diale (33-11-4), a native of Malungon, Sarangani Province stopped Wiljan Ugbaniel in the second round to improve his record to 33 wins with 16 knockouts against 11 defeats and four draws
Ugbaniel of General Santos City dropped to 13-4-1 win-loss-draw card.
The 28-year old Diale previously lost his WBC International flyweight title by a unanimous decision to the undefeated Andrew Selby (7-0) last February 4 at the Olympia Kensington in London.
“I want to be a champion again,” said Diale, who is managed by Japanese Ryuta Kato of United International Boxing Promotions.
Meanwhile, former Luzproba flyweight king Geboi Mansalayao also scored a TKO win against WBC Asian Bowing Council minimumweigh champion Roilo Golez in the 3rd round for his second straight win this year.
The 29-year old native from Malita, Davao del Sur previously stopped former WBO Oriental minimumweight champion Rommel Asenjo in the 7th round last May 9 in Cauayan City, Isabela.
Former WBO NABO flyweight champion Jobert Alvarez landed more telling blows to beat Roque Lauro by a unanimous decision while ex- PBF light flyweight champion Ivan Soriano TKO’d Bimbo Nacionales in the 2nd round.
