Tonight at 8:30 pm ET on ESPN+, Christopher Diaz and Masayuki Ito lock horns for the vacant WBO super featherweight title in Kissimmee, Florida, with two more fights set for the main card.
Diaz (23-0, 15 KO) is a 23-year-old rising contender in the divison, a Puerto Rican who has made a little noise but without any big marquee wins to date. Ito (23-1-1, 12 KO) is a 27-year-old fighter from Japan, fighting outside of his home country for the first time.
The winner gets a belt and a spot up near the top of the rankings in the division, so it’s a huge fight for both.
On the undercard, Gabriel Bracero (24-3-1, 5 KO) will meet Artemio Reyes (25-2, 20 KO) in a 10-round contest just north of the welterweight division. Bracero is a late replacement opponent, while Reyes is riding a 10-fight win streak.
Also in action will be middleweight Esquiva Falcao (20-0, 14 KO), a prospect from Brazil, who will face Mexico’s Jonathan Tavira (17-5, 13 KO) in another 10-round fight.
