All three are feasible, at least as far as I can tell. Breazeale (20-1, 18 KO) willingly risked his mandatory obligation against Oscar Negron last November; admittedly, Whyte (25-1, 18 KO) is a fair bit more dangerous than Negron, but it’s not outside the realm of possibility.
Povetkin (34-2, 24 KO) offers an interesting angle, as “Russian Vityaz” gave Anthony Joshua problems when they met last September. Beating Povetkin more impressively than Joshua did would be a fine tool for Whyte’s taunting campaign.
I swear to God, heavyweight matchmaking these days is like watching those weird bird mating dances.
Ortiz (30-1, 26 KO) is already booked to fight Christian Hammer on March 2nd as part of the Brian Castano-Erislandy Lara card. I can’t imagine him turning down a higher-profile fight with Whyte, though.
