Dirrell and Benavidez promise a fight to remember

On September 28 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, the super middleweight champion of the World Boxing Council, Anthony “The Dog” Dirrell (33-1-1, 24 KOs) will face the undefeated Mexican former world champion, David ” Red Flag ”Benavidez (21-0, 18 knockouts).

Dirrell comes from conquering the title by defeating Turkish Avni Yildirim by a technical decision, in a fight in Minnesota, United States.

Benavidez, who already held the WBC crown, reappeared after more than a year of defeating J’Leon Love. By TKO.

Both fighters faced each other in a tense press conference held in Los Angeles. The evening will be broadcast on FOX Sports PBC Pay-Per-View.

“This is a fight I want to be in. Fans have been waiting to see me recover my title. Anthony Dirrell is a tough and complicated fighter but that will make that he gets the best of me, ” Benavidez said.

“I will go in there and defend what is mine. I am very motivated, very hungry, and I will successfully defend my title,” promised Dirrell.
