Poland’s Maciej Sulecki (26-0, 10 KOs) will fight against WBC No. 2 ranked Armenian Vanes Martirosyan (36-3-1, 21 KOs) in a WBC super welterweight elimination match, to earn the right to fight champion Jermell Charlo (30 -0, 15 KOs).
Sulecki ranked No. 1 seeks the mandatory spot, by facing the tough experienced 31 year old Martirosyan. Sulecki, 28, has looked good, recently defeating former middleweight champion Jack Culcay by unanimous decision on Oct. 21 in Newark, New Jersey.
Martirosyan, who’s a former WBC Silver Champion, has always proved to be a great rival. He has had exciting fights with Ishe Smith, Erisklandy Lara and Demetrius Andrade. Vanes says he’s ready for this challenge, as he’s determined to fulfill his goal of becoming a green and gold champion.
A purse bid in Mexico City was won by legendary US promoter Don King, who guides the career of Martirosyan.
