Less than two weeks later, Petr Yan already needs a new opponent for UFC Moscow.
The bantamweight sensation was booked against Brazilian veteran Douglas Silva de Andrade at UFC’s first card in Russia on Sept. 15, but multiple sources told MMA Fighting that Andrade was forced to withdraw with a foot injury.
“No Mercy” is still expected to compete at UFC Moscow, and the promotion is looking for a new opponent.
Yan (9-1) signed with the UFC earlier this year after winning and defending the ACB bantamweight championship in Russia, and made quick work of Teruto Ishihara in his promotional debut in June. He’s currently riding a four-fight winning streak, which includes a win over the only man to ever beat him in MMA.
Headlined by Mark Hunt vs. Alexey Oleinik, the Fight Night event takes place at Moscow’s Olimpiyskiy Arena.
