PROMISING Recky “The Terror” Dulay made a smashing comeback in the US by knocking out a previously unbeaten Jaime “Jaimito” Arboleda of Panama in the 3rd round last July 15 at The Forum in Los Angeles, California.
Dulay, a native of Northern Samar immediately swollen the red eye of Arboleda in the first round. However, the Panamanian bounced back in the last 30 seconds of the next round.
In the third canto, lady referee Sharon Sands first halted the fight to fix the foul protector of Arboleda. And when Sands signaled to resume it, Dulay quickly landed a left to the body followed by a right overhand for the knockout in 2:03.
“Wala talaga akong planong i-knockout siya,” said Dulay, who scored his 7th knockout in 10 wins against only two defeats.
The 23-year old Dulay is now managed by Rey Rodis Jr. of RED Boxing International and trained by former world champion Rodel Mayol.
Arboleda, 22, who is presently the WBA Fedelatin super featherweight champion only suffered first setback after 10 straight wins.
“Dulay now has many offers. But his next fight will be in August,” said Rodis, a grandson of the late boxing Godfather in Northern Mindanao Antonio Almirante.
The fight was supposedly scheduled a day earlier at the Belasco Theatre by the Golden Boy Promotions.
Dulay last fought in the US in 2015 when he lost by a 1st round knockout to Gervonta Davis at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada
