GEN. SANTOS CITY, Philippines (Aug. 25) — “Ruthless” Romero Duno is eyeing for a knockout win against his Thai opponent Paiboon Lorkam in their upcoming title-fight for the vacant WBC Asian Boxing council super featherweight title on September 10 at the Tupi Municipal Gym in Tupi, South Cotabato.
Duno, a native of Cotabato City, wants to score a knockout to make sure that he will get the vacant title infront of his fans.
The 20-year old Duno is toting 10 wins with only one loss and no draw while 37-year old Lorkam has a record of 16 wins against 8 losses and no draw.
“Matibay din ang kalaban namin kaya kailangan talagang tumbahin upang makasiguro tayo ng panalo,” said new trainer Dodong Desabille.
Duno won his last fight via a 3rd round stoppage over veteran Eusebio Baluarte at the Gaisano Mall Gensan last June 26.
Duno’s only loss was a unanimous decision from the hands of Mikhail Alexeev for the vacant WBO Youth super featherweight title last May 6 at the DIVS Ekaterinburg in Russia.
“I’m now ready to fight,” said Duno.
The Duno-Lorkam title-fight is one of the double WBC ABCO championship dubbed as the “Battle in Tupi” presented by the Sanman Promotions.
