DUNO TO FIGHT TINAMPAY ON JUNE 10 IN GENSAN

DAVAO CITY – Current WBC Youth Intercontinental lightweight champion Romero “Ruthless” Duno of General Santos City is facing dangerous Jason Tinampay in the main event of the “Brawl at the Mall: The Homecoming” on June 10 at the Robinson’s Mall Atrium in General Santos City.
It will be Duno’s last fight in the Philippines before he will start campaigning in the United States under his US promoter Golden Boy Promotions according to his manager Dexter “Wang Yu” Tan of Sanman Boxing Stable.
Duno made an impressive US debut by scoring a 2nd round knockout against previous unbeaten Christian Gonzalez (16-1) last March 10 at the Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles, California to capture the vacant WBC Youth Intercontinental Lightweight title.
The 21-year old Duno currently has a record of 13 wins with 12 knockouts against only one defeat. But Duno should not be complacent on the 22-year old Tinampay from Tagbilaran, Bohol.
Tinampay is also a knockout artist with 8 wins and 7 knockouts but with four losses and one draw.
However, Tinampay lost already all his three championship fights including against Duno’s stablemate Rimar Metuda in their battle for the vacant WBF Asia Pacific featherweight title in 2015 in Gensan.
Tinampay also bowed to Jhack Tepora by a 5th round knockout in their championship fight for vacant WBO Asia Pacific Youth Super Bantamweight title last year in Cebu.
Tinampay previously lost to Jhaleel Payao also via a 5th round technical knockout last March 8 in Masbate in their fight for the vacant Philippines Boxing Federation (PBF) Bantamweight title.
