DAVAO CITY – Lightweight Romero “Ruthless” Duno of Gen. Santos City will fight against Ramon Elizer “Tito Cirujano” Esperanza of Paraguay on Aug. 20 at the Airport Hilton in Miami, Florida.
It will be the comeback fight of Duno in the US since he lost to Ryan Garcia of the US by a 1st round knockout last Nov. 2, 2019, in Las Vegas.
“Dawatun nalang kay mas maayu man siya sa akoa (Just accept it because he is better than me),” said the 25-year-old Duno.
But Duno (22W-2L-0D, 17 KOs) is back and ready to fight again. He doesn’t know anything about the 37-year-old Esperanza (22W-19L-1D, 11 KOs).
“I don’t know him, but congratulations to both of us”, said Duno.
He still tipped the scales at 148 lbs. and sparred four rounds.
“It’s only four rounds to almost play”, said Duno.
Duno recently knocked out Angelito “Merin” of Surigao last Feb. 29, 2020, at the Lagao Gym in Gensan.
It is handled by the Florida Athletic Commission and the promoter is Laura Ching of the M&R Boxing Promotions. Melvin Rivas is the matchmaker.
