EBU General Assembly in Brussels Belgium

The EBU – European Boxing Union – held its annual General Assembly in the Brussels Hilton hotel last weekend (June 11). More than 100 delegates from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Holland, Malta, Italy, Monaco, Switzerland, Serbia, , Ukraine, Bulgaria, Russia, Croatia, Estonia, Greece, Norway, Belorussia, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Bosnia-Herzegovina Latvia, Poland, Moldova and Slovakia were in attendance.

Before opening the meeting the President Bob Logist asked to observe a minute of silence for all our friends who passed away and especially Muhammad Ali and Hedi Taouab.

The award for the Championship of the Year 2015 was for Bellew vs. Masternak. The award for the Boxer of the Year was for Cedric Vitu and Gerard Teyseron received a special award for his 30 years of loyalty. Salvatore Cherchi and OPI 2000 team received the award for Promoter of The Year.

After the reports of the General Treasurer, the Chairman of the Ratings Commission and the Chairman of the Ring Officials Commission, President Logist asked the assembly to vote the decisions of the Board of Governors who held their meeting Friday afternoon. Finally he congratulated the delegation of the Malta Boxing Association unanimously accepted as new member and organizer of the 2017 General Assembly.
