British contender Sam Eggington will face the Mexican Carlos Molina, in a bout for the vacant middleweight Silver title of the World Boxing Council, which will be the main next Saturday, May 22, in a card that will take place at the Skydome Arena, in Coventry, West Midlands, UK.
Sam Eggington (29-7-0, 17 KO’s) is a former British, European, and Commonwealth champion.
At his last performance last December, Eggington put on a power punch display to defeat former British champion and world title challenger Ashley Theophane by six-round TKO.
In a 36-fight, nine-year career, Eggington has fought tough opponents offering great fights.
Eggington, 27, this time will risk his career against the dangerous Carlos Molina (37-11-2, 12 KO’s), who reigned as the IBF super welterweight world champion and enters the brawl with vast experience.
Molina has faced rivals such as Julio Cesar Chávez, Jr. (twice), Mike Alvarado, Erislandy Lara, Kermit Cintron, James Kirkland, Ishe Smith, Cory Spinks, and Cornelius Bundrage.
In a 20-year career of 50 fights and 401 rounds, the 37-year-old Molina has never been knocked out in his eleven losses.
The highlight of Molina’s career was defeating Ishe Smith, to be crowned IBF World Champion, in September 2013.
The fight is promoted by Hennessy Sports and will be televised on Channel 5 in the UK and Ireland.
