The middleweight fight between Elias Theodorou and Antonio Carlos Junior has been moved from UFC Sao Paulo to UFC 231, sources confirmed to MMA Fighting. Tarso Doria first reported the news.
UFC 231 takes place at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada, on Dec. 8.
Theodorou and “Cara de Sapato” were originally slated to on Sept. 22 in Brazil, but the Brazilian jiu-jitsu specialist was forced out of the card with an undisclosed injury on Tuesday.
Carlos Junior (13-1, 1 no-contest) is riding a five-fight winning streak in the middleweight division, capped off by a first-round submission victory over Tim Boetsch at UFC on FOX 29.
Theodorou (15-2), a fellow TUF winner, looks for his third straight victory after defeating Daniel Kelly and Trevor Smith via decision.
