Elizeu Zaleski hoped that his six-fight UFC win streak would be rewarded with a high-profile opponent like Robbie Lawler. Instead, the surging Brazilian has been slated for a date against Jingliang Li in Beijing, China on Nov. 24.
Sources confirmed the bout to MMA Fighting’s Guilherme Cruz following an initial report fromCombate.
Zaleski (20-5-0) goes into the bout on the back of his stunning second-round flying knee victoryover previously undefeated Luigi Vendramini at last month’s UFC Sao Paulo. “Capoeira” has lost just one bout in his seven-fight tenure with the UFC, a split-decision loss to Nicolas Dalby in his promotional debut at UFC Goiania. Ever since then, he has looked sensational as he scaled the welterweight ranks claiming wins over Omari Akhmedov, Keita Nakamura, Lyman Good, Max Griffin, Sean Strickland and Vendramini.
Jingliang (15-5-0) recently got back to winning ways with a decision win over Daichi Abe. Ahead of that UFC Singapore contest, “The Leech” had a four-fight win streak snapped by Aussie standout,Jake Matthews, when they clashed at UFC 221.
The Chinese welterweight is currently 7-3 in the UFC’s Octagon with his most notable wins coming against Frank Camacho, Zak Ottow and Dhiego Lima.
