A bantamweight scrap between Erik “El Goyito” Perez and Andres “Doble A” Ayala will serve as the main event for Combate Americas upcoming card on Nov. 17 in Monterrey, Mexico.
Perez (18-6) will be looking to extend four fight streak. In his most recent bout, “El Goyito” starched David Fuentes with a third round knockout in his promotional debut last April. He was expected to return against John Castenanada in a title eliminator in October. However, Castenanada was pulled from the card with a staff infection, forcing Perez off the card altogether..
Prior to his win over Fuentes, the 28-year-old put together a record of 7-2 under UFC banner. However, after fighting out his contract, Perez chose to sign with Combate Americas rather than re-up with the UFC.
Ayala (12-6) of Bogota, Colombia, will be making his promotional debut just four months removed from his TKO win on Guido Gongora. This got “Double A” back into the win column after dropping a pair of decisions to Javier Reyes Rugeles and Irvin Amaya.
With the addition of this bantamweight fight, here is how the entire card stands:
Erik Perez vs. Andres Ayala
Irene Cabello Rivera vs. Yajaira Romo
Levy Marroquin vs. Jose Estrada
Rodrigo Vargas vs. Ricardo Arreola
Eduardo Alvarado vs. Alan Cantu
Jose Luis Medrano vs. Won Sik Park
Ivan Perez vs. Daniel Rico
Jair Perez vs. Tino Gilaranz
Daniel Zellhuber vs. Salvador Izar
Ramiro Ruiz Castillo vs. Ivan Hernandez Flores
The entire event will go down on Nov. 17 inside the Gimnasio Nuevo Leon Unido in Monterrey, Mexico.
