ESMERALDA MORENO, FIRST FINALIST OF THE WBC DIAMOND TOURNAMENT

After a furious and fabulous fight, Esmeralda Moreno became the new World Boxing Council light flyweight, dethroning Ibeth Zamora, by split decision.

In front of a crowded Sport Unit Martín Alarcón in a card presented by  “Promociones del Pueblo”, “Moreno” prevailed with scores of 93-96, 95-94 against  96-93 in favor of Zamora, in the main event of the night.

In addition to recovering the belt she vacated for maternity,  Esmeralda became the first finalist of the WBC Diamond Belt Tournament, and now she is waiting for her rival.

Kika  Chavez and Ana Arrazola will clash on May 13 in Zapopan, Jalisco in a fight that is expected to be a barn burner. The winner will face Moreno.
