Chris Eubank Jr. still has plenty of work to do, but you can’t say the man doesn’t have ambition. While he prepares for his WBSS semi-finals match against George Groves early next year, the British-born fighter tells Sky Sports that he aims to become the biggest star in Las Vegas since Floyd Mayweather.

“That’s the ultimate goal for any fighter, to fight in those big casinos, on that strip in Las Vegas, Madison Square Garden, New York – all those iconic venues,” said Eubank Jr, who trained alongside Mayweather for his farewell bout against Conor McGregor in August.

“In the very near future, that’s where I’m going to be – up on the side of the MGM [Grand], name in bright lights.”

Eubank Jr. says he’s already has his name ringing in the UK and that he wants to build his brand Stateside where so many other past greats have made legends of themselves.

There’s nothing wrong with setting high goals for yourself, and Jr. certainly believes he has the goods and persona to make himself a mainstream star in America, but it all has to be backed up in the ring first and foremost. Making a statement in this WBSS super middleweight tournament will likely be the first step towards that.
