US fighter, two-time Olympic Gold medalist and superstar in the forming, Claressa Shields managed to conquer the World Boxing Council super-middleweight belt in just her fourth professional bout, beating Germany’s Nikki Adler by TKO In the 5th round at the MGM Grand Detroit in Detroit; Shields completely overwhelmed Adler with greater speed, power and precision.
Some months after, she went down a division in order to challenge German superstar, Christina Hammer; however, the fight was postponed after Hammer was named champion in recess as she is recovering from some health problems.
Now, Shields (6-0, 2 KOs) seeks to conquer her 2nd WBC belt, the vacant middleweight title of the World Boxing Council, against Hannah Rankin (5-2, 1 KO) in a 10-round bout that will be promoted by Salita Promotions and broadcast live on the DAZN platform tomorrow night.
Rankin who despite recognizing the quality of her rival vows to offer up a great show and get the victory plus the WBC middleweight belt.
Today, the official weigh in took place with both fighters complying with the division´s limit.
Claressa Shields: 159.6 Lbs.
Hannah Rankin: 158.6 Lbs.
