EX-IBF PAN PACIFIC CHAMPION HANDEG VS. DAGAYLOAN IN PANGASINAN DEC. 10

FORMER IBF Pan Pacific minimumweight champion Mateo “
Waray Warrior” Handeg is fighting Alphie Dagayloan in the main event of the “Bakbakan sa Santa Barbara” on December 10 in Santa Barbara, Pangasinan.
Games and Amusements Board (GAB) Commissioner Mar Masanguid is gracing the event, which is promoted by Joseph Quibral.
Handeg, a native of Catarman, Northern Samar is also a former WBC Asian Boxing Council minimumweight title holder. He won by a split decision against Japanese Katsunari Takayama in La Trinidad, Benguet in 2012.
However, Handeg has not won already a fight since 2013.
He lost by a unanimous decision to Ganigan Lopez in their 12-rounder for the vacant WBC United States minimumweight title in 2013.
Handeg next bowed also by UD to Pai Pharob for the PABA light flyweight crown in 2014 in Ban Rai Temple, Nakhon Ratchasima.
Handeg went back to Thailand to challenge WBC Asian Boxing Council flyweight champion Nawaphon Kaikanha but was knocked out in the 5th round on that same year.
Handeg then fought PABA bantamweight champion Boonsom Lamsiri also of Thailand. But Handig was again stopped by a KO in the 8th round at the City Hall ground in Chonburi in 2015.
Handeg’s next losses were against top-caliber Filipino fighters Ben Manangquil (KO), Rene Dacquel (UD), Lester Abutan (UD), Drian Francisco (UD), Giovanni Escaner (SD) and Michael Dasmarinas (KO).
“Gusto kong manalo para makalaban ulit sa titulo,” said the 28-year old Hanteg (13W-15L-0D, 7 KOs).
Dagayloan (7W-2L-5D, 3 KOs), on the other hand, previously scored a 3rd round knockout win against Albert Alcoy last October 20 in Bacoor, Cavite.
The 26-year old native of Dipolog City also settled a unanimous draw with former LuzProBA light flyweight champion Renerio Arizala last August 26.
“Mas lamang siya sa experience sa akin pero gagawin ko ang lahat upang matalo ko siya,” said Dagayloan of QuiBors Boxing Gym.
