Ex-OPBF champ Magali to fight in Mandaluyong

DAVAO CITY — Former Orient and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) super featherweight champion Carlo “The Ferocious” Magali of Bohol will show his wares again on Aug. 3 at the Brgy. Vergara Covered Court in Mandaluyong City.The 32-year old Magali (23W-12L-3D, 12KO) will fight Nathan Bolcio (14W-16L-3D, 4KO) of Benguet in six rounds.Magali TKO’d Masatoshi Kotani of Japan in the 10th round to retain his OPBF super featherweight title last Jan. 13, 2018 in Korakuen Hall, Tokyo .Magali, however, lost in his next OPBF title fight to Hironori Mishiro of Japan by a split decision last June 20 in Differ Ariaka, Tokyo.Magali lost also to Masao Nakamura of Japan via a TKO in the 10th round in the vacant World Boxing Organization Asia Pacific super featherweight title in Dec. 1.Bolcio, on the other hand, lost to Manila’s Roldan Aldea by a 1st round last May 4, 2019 in the Philippine lightweight title.Bolcio earlier also lost to Al Toyogon of Misamis Oriental in the 6th round TKO last Sept. 20 in a battle of WBC ABC Silver super featherweight title.Bolcio won over Manila’s Rex Olisa by a unanimous decision last March 5, 2017 in Mandaluyong.Meanwhile, the 34-year old minimumweight female boxer Jessebelle Pagaduan (11W-1L-1D, 5KO) of Benguet will fight Charimae Salvador (4W-2L-0D, 1KO) of Iligan in the under card.The other pairs:Alie Laurel (15-4-1) vs. Lloyd Jaldeliza (8-9-4) for the vacant LuzProba featherweight title;Prabhjot Singh (7-4-1) of India vs. Edsil Jungco (3-12-7) for the vacant Philippine Boxing Federation middleweight title;Eric Pen (3-0-0) of USA vs. David Koswara (12-15-2) of Indonesia for heavyweight;Denver Cuello (37-5-6) vs. Detnarong Omkrathok (3-9-0) of Thailand for super flyweight;Eduardo Mancito (16-10-2) vs. Jeson Berwela (4-30-0) for super feather;Miles Simson (2-0-0) of Netherlands vs. Bambang Rusiadi (9-9-0) of Indonesia for light heavyweight;Fel Morales (3-6-2) vs. Richard Quebec (0-5-0) for super flyweight;Jonathan Almacen (5-3-2) vs. Benjie Bartolome (2-13-2);Ador Torres (2-1-1) vs. Benjie Suganod (10-6-1);Harry Omac (debut) vs. Rosendo Autida (0-1-0) for minimum;Herlan Gomez (debut) vs. Ariel Enriquez (0-0-1).The big time “Showdown in Mandaluyong” promotion is brought by Brico Santig of Highland International Boxing Promotion and Darwin Miller Depay of DMAD Boxing Promotion. (Lito delos Reyes)
