EX-WBC ASIAN CHAMP TAM TO MAKE RING COMEBACK IN ALBERTA

FORMER WBC Asian Boxing Council featherweight champion Alvin “Cold-blooded Assassin” Tam of the Philippines is making a comeback after two years of layoff on October 14 at the Genesis Center in Calgary, Alberta in Canada.
Tam, who is already based in Canada will be fighting Mexican lightweight Jesus “Diamante” Perez in the main event of the “Dekada Premier Fight Night” of promoter Michael Short.
The 33-year old Tam (13W-5L-0D, 3 KOs) last fought and lost by a unanimous decision to Roody Pierre Paul (10W-3L) on October 24, 2015 at the Complexe Sportfif Gilles Tremblay in Repentigny, Quebec.
Tam, son of the former OPBF super featherweight Rey of Kapangan, Benguet, last won against JR Edurot via a 5th round knockout to win the WBC ABCO title on December 22, 2012 at the La Trinidad Gym in La Trinidad, Benguet.
Tam, whose two elder brothers Allan Rey (4W-4L-0D) and Aldrin (4W-2L-1D, 4 KOs) were also professional boxers, won the Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) featherweight title via a 6th round technical knockout win against Jayvee Alipio in 2012.
Perez, on the other hand, dropped a UD to Alex Torres Rynn (6W-0L) in his previous outing last June 24 also at Genesis Centre.
The 27-year old Perez (9W-11L-1D, 6 KOs) last won by a 1st round knockout against Juan Garcia last January 6 in Chaparaco, Mexico.
