American former world champion Floyd Mayweather will again come out of retirement to face 30-year-old Japanese MMA fighter Mikuru Asakura, who will make his boxing debut in boxing this Sunday 25 in Japan.
The fight will be the RIZIN 38 undercard event, and will be broadcast on PPV.
Mayweather retired from boxing in 2017 with a record of 50 wins with no losses and 27 knockouts.
But he has not left the ring and this very Sunday, he will perform this exhibition match with Mijuru Asakura.
Mayweather, 45, is ready to take part in another exJibuti on that will take place under the rules of boxing.
The “fight” marks the second time Mayweather has been linked with MMA promotional group RIZIN.
Because I n 2018, Floyd participated in a very lucrative exhibition fight when he knocked out then-20-year-old kickboxing star Tenshin Nasukawa in the first round.
Mayweather also participated in an exhibition fight earlier this year in Dubai, when he outpointed Don Moore in eight rounds.
The American boxer was world champion in super featherweight, lightweight, super lightweight, welterweight and superwelterweight, and did not lose any fight.
In 2017 he stopped UFC superstar Conor McGregor, and since then, Mayweather has stepped into the ring three times for exhibition fights.
“I know it’s just an exhibition match, but with one punch I can guarantee you his stomach will swell like an eggplant,” Mayweather said, speaking of his opponent of Sunday.
“Our punches are as different as a jet plane and a fly, so I look forward to having a fight against him.
“So now we’re doing a little bit: we can train for a few days and let the body rest for a few days, train for a few days, rest for a few days.
“We don’t really train too much. We just travel and enjoy life. Like when it comes to boxing and competition at the highest level, I did it for so long.
“When it comes time to go out there and do what I have to do, I get it.”
Asakura, 29, has an MMA record of 16 wins against 3 losse.
It will be the first time he wears boxing gloves.
