Fabian Edwards will put his undefeated record on the line when he faces newly signed Bellator middleweight Jonathan Bosuku at Bellator London on June 22 at London’s Wembley Arena.
Bellator confirmed the matchup to MMA Fighting and disclosed that Edwards has also signed a new multi-fight deal with the promotion.
Edwards (7-0-0) is considered one of the best prospects in Europe. He is coming off a viral knockout of Falco Neto in the co-main event of Bellator Birmingham.
After landing an upkick on Neto, “The Assassin” sprang to his feet and delivered a combo of finishing punches to end the bout in the first round. It was later revealed that Neto tested positive for steroids. Edwards went into the fight on the back of the biggest win of his career, a decision nod over U.K. veteran and former Cage Warriors champion, Lee Chadwick.
Bosuku (7-4-0) confirmed that he signed with Bellator last week via social media. He is a champion under the Swiss banner Hard Fighting Championship. He claimed the title via a second-round KO over Julien da Silva in their July 2017 meeting. He rides a five-fight win streak going into the contest. In his last outing, he claimed a decision win over Mikkel Kasper at Danish MMA Night last June.
