Well, it seems UFC London finally has a main event.
Former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum will take on former Bellator champ Alexander Volkov in the headlining slot of UFC London (also known as UFC Fight Night 127), which is set to go down on March 17 at The O2 Arena in London, England.
The news was announced by the promotion on Thursday morning.
Werdum, ranked third in the division, will be looking to extend his latest wins streak to 3-0. The Brazilian recently picked up wins over Walt Harris and Marcin Tybura since his decision loss to Alistair Overeem last July. The 40-year-old Werdum is currently 23–7–1 in his MMA career, and 3-1 since losing the title to Stipe Miocic in 2016.
Meanwhile, Volkov is looking to remain unbeaten in his UFC run. The 29-year-old has defeated Timothy Johnson, Roy Nelson and Stefan Struve since joining the UFC in 2016. Volkov is 29-6 in his fighting career and he’s currently ranked seventh in the heavyweight division.
