WBCBy WBCnews
Self reliance has been a major guiding factor in the life of new WBC super bantamweight champion Fatuma Zarika.
Born in Nairobi, Kenya on March 13th  1985, in humble circumstances, Fatuma, quickly learned to depend upon herself, and to look after herself.
Her biggest inspiration Was Laila Ali, watching her fighting on TV, being surprised and impressed by her speed as well as attacking style. Fatuma immediately dreamed  of becoming a world champion herself, in her own right.
She became pro boxer, in order to fulfill that  dream of becoming a queen bee.
Her career had  its ups and downs, but she was always convinced  that she would become world champion, joining the prestigious roll call of : Amanda Serrano, Jennifer Han, Eva Wahlstrom, Jelena Mrdjenovich, Delfine Persoon and Diana Prazak.
Zarika,  who has a record of  28 triumphs with 16 KO´s, 12 loses and 2 draws, saw through, how her dream of becoming WBC super bantamweight champion was triumphantly fulfilled, after defeating the experienced and accomplished Alicia Ashley.
In so doing, she became the first fighter from Kenya to  conquer an absolute World Boxing Council title.
