Super lightweight fighters Pablo Cesar Cano and Fidel Maldonado Jr. will clash this Saturday at the Tostitos Championship Plaza of The Star in Frisco, Texas, on a card promoted by Golden Boy Promotions.
The 140-pound FECARBOX title fight will be the first boxing event to take place at the Dallas Cowboys training facility and it will be aired on ESPN.
Cano (30-5-1, 21 KO’s), 27, has offered great fights and he has fought with major rivals such as Paulie Malignaggi, Shane Mosley and Erik Morales.
“Although I have been a professional with an 11 years career. I feel motivated to get a victory. A victory over Maldonado, will allow me to face the best opponents of the 140 pounds division and contest a world title,” quipped Cano.
Maldonado (23-3-1, 19 KO’s), a 25-year-old southpaw from Albuquerque, New Mexico, has 4-0-1 mark. He was defeated by the tough fighter Amir Imam in January 2015.
“I can not wait to get into the ring with Cano and show Texas fans everything I’ve improved. I have to win this fight because I want a chance for the world title,” said Maldonado Jr.
