“To tell the truth, at the age I’m at right now, more and more I am thinking about retiring,” Emelianenko said Wednesday through an interpreter at the Bellator 214 open workouts at Viacom headquarters in Hollywood (via MMA Fighting).
“I cannot answer this question at this moment,” he said when asked about his retirement date. “But I am willing to take some rest and then decide.”

Fedor came out of retirement in 2015 at the age of 39, picking up two wins before being knocked out by Matt Mitrione in 2017. According to him, these thoughts about retirement are because of his age, more than anything else.
“It is not because I don’t want to fight. Definitely it is because of the age, you know, and injuries that I have.”
After bouncing back from his loss with two straight TKO wins over Frank Mir and Chael Sonnen, respectively, Fedor is slated to face Ryan Bader in the Bellator heavyweight tournament final at Bellator 214 this Saturday, January 26th at the Forum in Inglewood, CA.
