American Brandon Figueroa and Venezuelan native Yonfrez Parejo will rise to the ring this Saturday to dispute the interim title of the super bantamweight division of the World Boxing Association (WBA). The fight will take place at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California, and it will be a great opportunity for both fighters to climb the rankings.

Figueroa, just 22 years old, will have his first world title opportunity and intends to make the most of it to make a big jump in his career. In front of him will be Parejo, who has experience in championship fights and who has already been champion in the bantamweight division. The South American comes into the fight very motivated and with the intention of claiming and having a new opportunity.

In the case of the Weslaco native, he remains undefeated and arrives at the fight with a streak of five fights won by knockout, which makes him an even more dangerous fighter in order to obtain this 122-pound title. On the other hand, Parejo has won five of his last six matches, only losing the world championship bout against Ryan Burnett, which has given him the right to fight for the belt.

Both fighters will complete the pre-fight activities over the course of this week, which will include a press conference and the weigh-in ceremony. Figueroa has a record of 18 wins, no losses, and 13 knockouts, while Parejo has a record of 22 wins, 3 losses, 1 draw, and 11 knockouts.
