Undefeated World Boxing Council Middleweight Champion Jermall Charlo will defend his title against Mexican contender Juan Macias Montiel tomorrow night at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
For this fight, the WBC has created the Freedom Belt, a special recognition to commemorate “Juneteenth”, a date that commemorates the day slavery was abolished in the state of Texas.
Charlo has established himself as one of the finest and most dedicated champions of the moment and will be looking to thrill the crowd in his hometown against hard hitting Mexican Montiel.
The champion will fight in his Houston home for the fourth time as a professional and will seek to keep his undefeated record intact and defend his WBC green and gold belt.
This Friday both fighters passed the official weigh-in. Charlo recorded 160 pounds (in his second attempt), while Montiel was 159.5 pounds.
The card presented by TGB Promotions and PBC will be broadcast for the United States on SHOWTIME, while for Latin America on ESPN KNOCK OUT.
