BANGKOK, Thailand — Cameroon’s Rolly Lambert Fogoum (15-1-1, 12 KO’s) conquered the vacant WBC Asia Cruiserweight Belt by outclassing in 10 complicated chapters tough-as-nails Thai veteran Chaloemporn Sawatsuk (21-10, 14 KO’s), on Wednesday, October 26, at the SpacePlus Night Club, RCA Plaza, in Bangkok, Kingdom of Thailand.
Scores were unanimous for the world-class Dubai-based Rolly Lambert Fogoum, a former body-builder turned successful boxer, who is also the WBA Asia Titlist, as well as the WBO African Champion.
In the co-feature, Japanese Toshihiko Era (8-1, 7 KO’s), successfully defended his ABF Flyweight Strap with a chapter 2 stoppage win over Indonesian Oscar Raknafa, who had no counter-measures to deal with the speed and power of the Nippon warrior born in Osaka.
Also in the thrilling evening of boxing, South Korean super welterweight southpaw Tae Kyun Kim (7-1-1, 7 KO’s), delivered a fast and furious round two knockout win over former Muay Thai combatant Viroj Wanram.
Plus, Spain’s cruiserweight Marvin Ruf (3-0, 1 KO) of Palma de Mallorca, España, edged a close unanimous decision win over veteran Thai battler Pornwissanu Suwaros.
The Spaniard clinched the win after dropping Suwaros to the canvas with a huge right overhand during the closig seconds of their fight. Suwaros survived the onslaught, making it on his feet when the final bell sound.
In women’s action, Flyweight warrior Phannaluk Kongsang outclassed and stopped in two rounds her cute Thai compatriout Kanyanat Chotchun.
In addition, unbeaten Ahmad Samir Dawrani (8-0-1, 5 KO’s) of Bazarak in northeastern Afghanistan, ravaged veteran Thai fighter Puwanai Lithab, brutalizing him in two minutes of action to claim the win in their non-title middleweight collision.
Moreover, Pinoy fighters Ador Torres and JV Tuazon came out as winners after defeating their respective Thai opponents during the entertaining 8-bout Highland Boxing Promotions show
Ador Torres (5-4-1, 2 KO’s), of the Bungto san Santa Magdalena in Sorsogon Province, knocked out Thai combatant Worraphon Jesadajindawat; while Fil-Am “The Fighting Doc” JV Tuazon (2-4-2, 1 KO), came back from a long hiatus in his boxing career to out-maneuver and decision tough Thailander Nattapol Attachak in four rounds of knuckle.
The show was a production of award-winning Filipino promoter Brico Santig of the Highland Boxing Team, in association with veteran Thai man of boxing Supanat Chamram and successful Chinese entrepreneur Tony Chen.
