BANGKOK, Thailand — Sports-loving nations India and Pakistan take it to another level when they compete hard against each other in pro boxing title battles in the latest 10-bout Highland Boxing show, firing up the square ring this coming Wednesday, August 3, at the plush & starry SPACEPLUS Night Club, RCA Plaza, in the heart of Bangkok, Kingdom of Thailand.
In cool attraction, a hot heavyweight battle will unfold thanks to the matchmaking skills of Highland Boxing, pitting friendly, handsome, but brutally lethal big 26-year-old Pakistani warrior “The Diamond Kid” Taimoor Khan (5-0, 4 KO’s) of Islamabad trading heavy artillery against equally rough 24-year-old Vedant Agarwal (5-0-1, 3 KO’s) of Dwarka, India, for the Asian Boxing Federation (ABF) Heavyweight Title.
The rumble will be Agarwal’s first fight outside of his beloved India, prompting questions in fans minds: who will emerge victorious, advancing his pro boxing career while claiming the brand-new ABF Heavyweight Belt… and who will bite the dust, losing his unbeaten record?
In another thrilling clash, cop/middleweight boxer “The Markhor” Shahir Afridi (4-0-1, 1 KO) of Karachi, Pakistan – whose favorite boxer is American lightweight champion Devin Haney – will lock horns against fast & furious Indian warrior Israr Usmani (6-1, 6 KO’s), the young fighter who hails from the City of Agra in India, the place where the awesome Taj Mahal Palace, one of the world’s seven wonders is located.
At the end, will it be Shahir, 27, or Usmani, 22, the victorious one to earn the ABF Middleweight Title?
We’ll have to find out as stakes are high for the two men.
As Don King “Only in America” said in a presser for a Tito Trinidad fight in New York more than 20 years ago: “This feels so intense that the air can be cut with a knife!”
In another exciting Highland match-up, heavy-handed “Hulk” Nadir Baloch (10-1, 8 KO’s) of Karachi, Pakistan, squares off battle-tested 34-fight Thai warrior Paiboon Lorkham of Udon Thani for the for the vacant Asian Boxing Federation (ABF) Featherweight Continental Title, another saga that destined to ignite fireworks.
The, in a battle of unbeaten bantamweights, 22-year-old Filipino Herlan Gómez (4-0, 2 KO’s) of Bacolod City fights tough, 23-year-old Thai heavy-hitter knockout artist Sarawut Jiamthong (6-0, 6 KO’s) for the ABF Bantamweight Strap.
Will the Pinoy fighter emerge victorious? or Will the Thai the one to add another scalp to his perfect fighting record?
Moreover. In cruiserweights, slugger Rolly Lambert Fogoum (13-1-1, 11 KO’s) of Bafoussam, Cameroon, lock horns against strong & fearless 29-year-old Thai Nattapon Plangpimai (16-2, 13 KO’s) of Thailand’s Phetchyndee Boxing Gym for the vacant WBA Asia 200-lbs belt and a berth in the WBA cruiserweight world rankings.
Also, promising 26-year-old Filipino “Striker” John Michael Zulueta (12-0-2, 8 KO’s) of Bacolod, a boxer formerly ranked by the IBF and the WBA, is back in action against 25-year-old Somphon Banyaem (6-6, 6 KO’s) of Ubon Ratchathani in a non-title 6-rounder light flyweight battle that might not make the distance.
Somphon is a fighter of the Phetchyndee Boxing Gym, swinging for victory during this thrilling event at the SPACEPLUS Night Club on Wednesday evening.
What’s more, in women’s action, cute Hong Kong fighting girl Yang Shaen Ru battles Thai warrior-lady Panidda Pachai in a hot four-rounder clash in the 112-lbs weight class.
Furthermore, in another cruiserweight war, Spaniard-German Marvin Ruf, the brutal fighter with the looks of a movie star will make his pro boxing debut by trading hard blows against more-experienced Pornwissanu Suwaros of Thailand in a 4-round clash.
Plus, in another cruiserweight war, Irani fighter Pouriya Rokhneh (7-1, 5 KO’s) battles 25-year-old Nakhonchai Pantang of Samut Prakan, Thailand in a non-title 6-stanza war in the 200-pound weight-class.
Will the gladiator born in Iran’s capital Tehran be the one destined to claim triumph? Or will the Greek goddess of victory Nike smile at the brave Thailander Nakhonchai?
In the first bout kicking off the evening of cool international boxing, an all-Thai war will unfold in the square ring in the 105-lbs division as Panuwit Chinpe gets in colision course against his Thai compatriot Phissanu Chimsunthon in a non-title six-round saga.
