Former WBC flyweight champ Higa draws Tsutsumi

FORMER WBC world flyweight champion Daigo Higa of Tokyo settled to a majority draw with undefeated Seiya Tsutsumi of Kumamoto in their 10-rounder held Oct. 26 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

Judge Yuji Fukuchi scored the fight in favor of Higa, 96-94 while judges Akihiko Katsuragi and Toshio Sugiyama both saw it 95-all.

It was the first time that the 25-year old Higa had a draw while the second time for Tsutsumi.

Higa recently scored a technical knockout over Jason Buenaobra of Sorsogon in the 6th round last Feb. 13, 2020 in Korakuen.

Higa had a long rest in 2019 after he lost his fight against Cristopher Rosales of Nicaragua for the WBC flyweight title last April 2018.

Higa, who also failed to make weight during that fight now has a total of 16 wins all by knockout with one loss.

Tsutsumi, on the other hand, had five wins with four knockouts and no loss.

The event was promoted by Yukio Sebata of Dangan Aoki Promotions.
