Even after incurring his first UFC loss at UFC 220 against Stipe Miocic last January, Francis Ngannou is still looking for the best competition available for him. He is even considering a fight against undefeated world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua, who has also been considering an MMA run.
“I heard Anthony Joshua say he’s gonna fight in MMA and if he wants to face me and I was like, ‘Hey, you’re welcome, man,’” Ngannou said on Monday’s episode of The MMA Hour (via MMA Fighting). “We gonna do it both sides, in the Octagon and inside the ring.”
As for his prospect opponents in MMA, Ngannou is still campaigning for a fight against Brock Lesnar, whom he is pushing to return to the UFC.
“Please Brock, come back, come back my friend,” Ngannou said. “We need you here. We need you to put the fun in this division. I need you to give me that f—ng fight I’ve been waiting for for a long time, I’ve been dreaming for.”
According to UFC president Dana White, the odds of Lesnar returning to the UFC are “very, very, good”, despite the fact that the former WWE star still has seven months left in his suspension for failing his UFC 200 drug tests in 2016.
