Franco and Moloney declared themselves ready for war

Joshua Franco and Andrew Moloney held their final press conference before their Saturday fight for the World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Flyweight title at the MGM Grand Bubble in Las Vegas.

This Wednesday afternoon, Franco and Moloney went face to face to talk to the press about what will be their second fight and said they were eager and motivated to get the victory.

“It’s great to be back in ‘The Bubble’ and now that I have the title it’s even better,” said the WBA Champion.

The San Antonio, Texas native said he feels much better than he did for his first fight thanks to the confidence in his coach and the progress he has made in recent months.

“I’m more confident and I’m getting better. I have the confidence of having Robert (Garcia) on my side. That’s great. He has a lot of experience. We’re looking for better opportunities after Saturday,” he said.

For his part, the now challenger Australian regretted having lost in the previous fight, but now wants to recover the belt and says he feels ready: “It was not my best night, but this time they will see a much better fighter. He will think he is in the ring with a different fighter”.

“Never in my life have I been so determined to do something. I am grateful for the opportunity to redeem myself. During the past five months, I’ve been preparing to leave with that belt around my waist. That belt means everything to me. It is my son’s future. I won’t leave without it,” he said about the black and gold belt, the most important in boxing.

Now all that is left is the weigh-in ceremony before Saturday’s bout. Franco and Moloney had a great fight in July and the expectation for a rematch has grown a lot.

The champion has a record of 17 wins, 1 loss, 2 draws, and 8 KOs, while Moloney has 21 wins, 1 loss, and 14 KOs.
