Filipino “The Sniper” Froilan Saludar (32-4-1, 22 KO’s) born in Polomolok, Cotabato del Sur, is in a hot collision course against Australian former 115 world champion, Andrew Moloney (21-2, 14 KO’s), for the vacant WBO super flyweight Oriental Strap today, Tuesday Dec 21, at The Star Event Center in Sydney, Australia.
Time of the clash is approximately at 15:00 hours (Philippines Time) today Tuesday.
This is the golden chance for “The Sniper” Froilán Saludar to boost his career to high levels. Can he do it?
The fight is promoted by No Limit Boxing, live on ESPN.
Andrew Moloney, 30, who fought a trilogy against Joshua Franco (18-1-2, 8 KO’s), returns to the ring at his home in Australia, against the experienced Mindanao warrior Froilán Saludar, whose brother is also a world class fighter.
The Australian Moloney held the WBA world title briefly, before embarking against Franco, with whom he lost 2 unanimous decisions, and a controversial no-contest.
Andrew Moloney wants to become a 2-time world champion. But on his way is the Filipino former world title challenger Froilán Saludar who currently residing in The City of Golden Friendship, Cagayan de Oro.
I Can he defeat the Pinoy…? Or will it be the other way around?
Moloney says that he feels enthusiasm to return to the ring Tuesday against Froilan Saludar.
“I’m motivated, that’s the best way to describe myself right now. I am as motivated as ever to become a world champion for the second time,” says Moloney.
Meanwhile, Froilán Saludar, the tough 32-year-old Filipino, is 4-1 since he challenged Japanese Sho Kimura for the WBO flyweight world title in July 2018.
“This fight against Froilán Saludar is not a picnic, and I didn’t want it to be, shared Moloney.
“I wanted a real fight, and that’s what I got. An opponent as the Filipino with a good record who fought for the World Championships, who comes to fight, that’s what I wanted and I have lived in the gym since I came out of my quarantine.
“I have to show fans that I keep improving, added the Aussie whose brother a world class fighter.
Moloney still ranks high in the world rankings of multiple sanctioning bodies, sharing his plans to secure a world title shot.
The former WBA 115-pound champ Moloney said to fans that “Kazuto Ioka is the fight that I want.
“Kazuto Ioka is a legend, a 4-division Champion. That’s my dreams fight. We seek to position ourselves so that this fight against the awesome Japanese can happen in the future.
“That’s why I have to produce a first-class performance Tuesday in Australia, to get a chance to get the Kazuto Ioka fight.
I deeply respect Kazuto as a fighter and my calling is respectful. However, I am willing to travel to Japan to face him.
“But the first thing to do on Tuesday is to remind people who Andrew Moloney is (by defeating Froilan Saludar)”
If Moloney beats Saludar – which is not sure – then the Australian would have to wait because Kazuto Ioka will be making the 4th defense against the Japanese champion, WBO Asia Pacific and OPBF, Ryoji Fukunaga on New Year’s eve Tokyo, Japan.
But if Froilan Saludar beats Moloney, then it could be the Filipino the one challenging Kazuto Ioka,
BEST OR LUCK FROILÁN.!!
