Full Card Announced For ONE: VISIONS OF VICTORY

ONE Championship has revealed the full card for ONE: VISIONS OF VICTORY, with 10 bouts set to deliver a spectacular night of action at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Friday, 9 March.

The event will be headlined by a battle for the ONE Flyweight World Title, as defending champion Adriano “Mikinho” Moraes faces top contender Reece “Lightning” McLarenThis extraordinary main event will be supported by a stacked card of exciting contests, which will see the world’s best martial artists in action.

While many of the night’s bouts were already announced, additional contests to complete the card have recently been confirmed.

Michelle Nicolini Makes Her Return

ONE: VISIONS OF VICTORY features the highly anticipated return of eight-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion Michelle Nicolini, who takes on Ukrainian submission specialist Iryna Kyselova in a women’s strawweight contest. 

Nicolini is a legend of the mats. In addition to her eight BJJ world titles, she captured an ADCC Title during her storied jiu-jitsu career, and was inducted into the BJJ Hall Of Fame upon her retirement from the sport.

The Brazilian’s 4-1 cage record unsurprisingly includes four submission victories, and she heads into the upcoming tilt on a two-bout win streak, thanks to back-to-back submissions of Mona Samir and five-time wushu world champion Irina Mazepa inside the ONE cage.

She will face Kyselova, who comes into the bout with outstanding grappling credentials of her own. The Donskoe, Ukraine-based athlete has a professional record of 11-2 with nine stoppage victories, seven of which have come by submission. The 22-year-old is riding a four-bout win streak, and looks to make a statement in her promotional debut.

Luis Santos Welcomes Kiamrian Abbasov To ONE

Also set for action is Brazil’s Luis “Sapo” Santos, who steps into the ONE cage to face promotional newcomerKiamrian Abbasov in a welterweight bout.

Santos is one of the most experienced athletes in the martial arts world, having competed in a staggering 75 cage bouts during his career and compiling a record of 63-10-1 (1 NC) in the process. The BJJ and judo black belt is renowned for his aggressive approach and imposing physical presence in the cage, and he is looking to kickstart his run towards world title contention.

Krygyzstan native Abbasov arrives to ONE with an impressive 18-3 record, and is riding a 10-bout win streak. The former Prime Selection GP Welterweight Champion has nine knockouts and three submissions on his record, and will look to catapult himself into the title mix at the seasoned Brazilian veteran’s expense.

A Showdown Between Young Featherweights

Pakistan and China will be represented in Kuala Lumpur, as Pakistani talent Ahmed “Wolverine” Mujtaba takes on Chinese wrestler “Cannon” Ma Jia Wen in a featherweight bout. 

Mujtaba (8-1) has a host of spectacular stoppage wins on his record, including four submission finishes.

The former UGB MMA Featherweight Champion will make his fourth appearance inside the ONE cage, and the 25-year-old looks to display the massive improvements he has made to his game over the past year.

The 21-year-old Ma is a Chinese National Freestyle Wrestling silver medalist who enters the match following back-to-back TKO wins in his last two outings.

Aside from possibly going on a three-bout win streak, he has some extra incentive in this forthcoming clash. He wants to exact revenge for his Tianjin Top Team training partner Li Kai Wen, who received a loss in his November battle against Mujtaba.

“King Kong” Is Back

Indonesia’s Riski “King Kong” Umar will look to complete a hat-trick of wins in the ONE cage, as he continues his promising martial arts career against Cambodian Kun Khmer specialist Khon Sichan in a 62.5kg catchweight contest. 

Umar will be keen to produce another impressive display as he looks to establish himself as a legitimate contender in the ONE flyweight division. The unbeaten 25-year-old is a dangerous striker with excellent Muay Thai and taekwondo.

The Indonesian will pit those skills against Sichan, who brings a seasoned 29-9-3 Kun Khmer record to the ONE cage.

As Previously Announced

The newly-confirmed quartet of match-ups fills out a stacked card that also features the return of Malaysian star Agilan Thani, who looks to cement his position as one of the company’s premier welterweights when he takes on Amitesh Chaubey.

Fast-rising Malaysian competitor Gianni Subba is also scheduled for action, as he takes on Filipino favorite Danny Kingad in a hotly-anticipated flyweight contest, while Hisyam Samsudin returns to action against Liberia’s Jerome S. Paye.

Additionally, featherweight contender Christian “The Warrior” Lee will look to move one step closer to world title contention when he faces Japan’s Kazunori Yokota, and Malaysia’s much-heralded Jihin Radzuan will go head-to-head in a women’s atomweight encounter against Puja Tomar.
