Full Card For ONE: HERO’S DREAM In Yangon Revealed

On Friday, 3 November, ONE Championship returns to Yangon’s Thuwunna Indoor Stadium for the fifth time in the company’s history to stage its latest spectacle, ONE: HERO’S DREAM. The blockbuster event will feature 10 bouts of world-class martial arts action.

The main event sees local hero, ONE Middleweight World Champion Aung La “The Burmese Python” N Sang, take on four-time Muay Thai and Kickboxing heavyweight world champion Alain “The Panther” Ngalani.

Aung La N Sang last appeared inside the ONE Championship cage this past June, where he successfully defeated Vitaly Bigdash to capture the ONE Middleweight World Championship in front of his countrymen. He also became the first Myanmar-born world champion in any sport that night, and is ready to excite the local crowd again.

“I am thrilled to be back in the cage this November. As world champion, I will always be proud to represent my home country, and I gladly accept the responsibility of inspiring my countrymen with my time inside the cage,” Aung La N Sang stated.

“I am truly blessed to be in the position that I am, and I promise to give my best performance yet. Alain Ngalani will be the biggest opponent I have ever competed against, and it is a challenge that I am really excited to take on.”

The Myanmar hero will face his stiffest challenge yet in Ngalani, a much larger adversary who defeated former ONE Heavyweight World Title challenger Hideki “Shrek” Sekine in September. In doing so, he set the record for the fastest knockout in the heavyweight division’s history at a blistering 11 seconds.

Now, “The Panther” is looking to make history for the second time in two months.

“As a martial artist, we continuously strive to reach the top. Everyone craves success in many forms, and for me, to be part of history is part of my goals,” Ngalani explains.

“This is a historic matchup that will be talked about for years. I vow to do everything in my power to get the victory, give the fans an exciting show, and go down in the record books as winner of this historic bout. Together with Aung La N Sang, we will put on a thrilling contest.”

When this colossal matchup was announced by ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong last month, he also promised to deliver yet another thrilling event to Myanmar. He said, “It’s going to be another memorable night of action for fans in Yangon and from all over the world. Get ready for some major fireworks!”

In addition, the organization has announced an incredible lineup of matches scheduled to take place at ONE: HERO’S DREAM.

As always, Myanmar’s fiercest lethwei warriors will also be taking to the cage to showcase their evolution as martial artists. One of the matches that is sure to grab the attention of local fans will be the dynamic featherweight clash between ONE Myanmar Featherweight Tournament Champion 2016, Phoe “Bushido” Thaw, and ONE Myanmar Lightweight Tournament Finalist 2015 Saw Ba Oo.

In addition, Saw Min Min takes on Ye Thway Ne in a blistering bout that should have taken place as the final of the ONE Myanmar Flyweight Tournament in June this year. Ye Thway Ne had made it to the final of the one-night tournament, but was unable to compete due to injury.

Also on the 10-bout card are Chinese wrestling champion “The Southern Eagle” Ma Hao Bin, Filipino Muay Thai champion Eugene Toquero, unbeaten grappling juggernaut “Rock Man” Chen Lei, Filipino kickboxing champion Burn “Hitman” Soriano, and plenty more.
