Japanese Hurricane Futa (24-7-1, 15 KOs), stormed to an important and surprise victory conquering the international lightweight belt of the World Boxing Council, by defeating the defending champion,Vage Sarukhanyan (17-2-1, 4 KOs) via a TKO.
Futa landed the halting victory in the seventh round, in a match that was part of the Gassiev-Dorticos card in Sochi, Russia.
Futa achieved an almost perfect fight from the very beginning, constantly using his powerful left hook to hurt his opponent. In the seventh round the Referee stopped the fight, saving an overwhelmed Sarukhanyan.
